Meet the Team

Andrea Boulter

– Senior Family Law Solicitor

I joined Clarke & Son’s Family Department in 2017 and I specialise solely in Family Law. I qualified as a solicitor in December 1990. I previously studied at Nottingham Trent University to obtain a Bachelor of Law degree and later passed the post graduate solicitor’s finals at the College of Law in Guildford. I trained and qualified in Cambridge before moving back to the Surrey/Hampshire borders in 1993. I studied Family Law in both my degree and post-graduate training. I chose to remain in the Family Law field upon qualification. It remains the area of law about which I am most passionate. I have worked in North East Hampshire since 2005. I am very familiar with the local court structure and the many local organizations and persons that care for families in need of advice when a relationship is ending.

My areas of work include separation agreements, divorce procedure, pre-nuptial agreements, and resolving financial issues between spouses resulting from marital breakdown. I conduct cases involving children issues (pursuant to the Children Act 1989 and subsequent statutory provision) whether in relation to residence/contact, welfare, safety or child protection/domestic abuse prevention or the financial needs of children. I deal with the legal issues arising from the relationship of breakdown for unmarried couples and those in civil partnerships. I can assist in cases of child abduction whether within or outside the UK and applications to remove children either temporarily or permanently from the jurisdiction of England and Wales conducted either in regional courts or in the Central Family Court in London.

I have been a member of Resolution (formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association) since 1991. I am committed to its members’ code of conduct for the amicable resolution of family law issues. I am a member of Hampshire Law Society, Surrey Law Society and a past President of Surrey Law Society. I am currently the coordinator for the Association of Women Solicitors (Surrey Branch).

In my spare time I enjoy visiting restaurants, theatre and arts events and particularly enjoy cinema, ballet and musical theatre. I have a particular interest in medieval history and visiting castles of that period. I am involved as a committee member of a thriving local community group near my home and support a children’s charity funded school and outreach educational project in the Philippines.
