On Wednesday 12th July we held our 7th Charity Golf Day at Test Valley Golf Club, supporting the fantastic Simon Says.
We were very lucky with the weather, as there were plenty of heavy showers and storms around us. As always the golf course was in great condition. This certainly meant that there was some great scoring, even with a slight change of format this year with only 90% of your handicap allowance.
The overall winners were the team from Lightsave which included Oliver Nicholas, Andrew Mutepfa, Matthew Kilford and Matt Howarth. The team came together brilliantly with individual scores of 37, 37, 36 and 36pts which helped them to get a team score of 96pts. The highlight for them was getting 9pts on the 7th hole with Andrew Mutepfa making a 3 nett 1 for 5pts!! The overall scoring was really impressive though with 5 teams getting over 90pts.
1st Place – Lightsave – 96pts
2nd Place – Fortem Financial – 94pts
3rd Place – Langdowns – 93pth (on countback from LFM also on 93pts)
Nearest the pin on the 9th hole and this was kindly sponsored by our friends at Powder Monkey. Sadly, nobody won the year’s supply of beer but there were plenty of people that hit the green. The nearest the pin was won by Ryan Houston for the men and Gill White for the ladies. We also had an additional prize for hitting the green which was also sponsored by Powder Monkey. The players that hit the green were:
Ryan Houston, Richard White, Karl Goddard, Nick Butt, Gary McMurray, Alex Joannou, Phil Dixon, Nigel Bourne, Jason Lee-Emery, Tony Gardiner, Ashley Hull, Rob Moore and Gill White.
Longest drive on the 14th hole was won by Josh Hebbard for the men and Rosemarie Bartlett for the ladies. Well done to all the winners.
There is always a fun addition to the day of the wheelbarrow of wine. Thank you to everyone that donated a bottle to the wheelbarrow. I think we had the most wine we have ever had as the wheelbarrow was overflowing!! The winner of the wine was Dave Lovegrove.
We have raised an incredible £5231.19! We couldn’t have achieved this without your generosity and support so thank you so much for this and also thank you to everyone that donated a prize.
We have already booked for next year at Test Valley. We have secured a 9am shotgun start on Wednesday 19th June. If you would like to book your place now, please email email@example.com.
