We are going into our fifth year supporting The Ark Cancer Centre Charity and we are not slowing down! As a firm we have already raised over £65,000 for The Ark and we want to continue supporting this fantastic charity.
The Ark Cancer Centre is aiming to raise £5 million to build a much needed treatment centre in North Hampshire. Building this centre will enhance the care received by patients and their families throughout their treatment. So far we have helped the charity reach a number of fundraising milestones by taking on a wing walk, abseil, hosting a charity ball and a number of golf days.
This year we are looking to add £15,000 to our fundraising total. Once again we have recruited a team of charity fundraisers to take on challenges big or small in order to help us reach our target. Our team will be taking part in a colour obstacle run, charity runs, walks, a parachute jump and much more!
As well as taking on these challenges Clarke and Son will be supporting Ark Day 2019. Friday 21st June, is the longest daylight day of the year and the challenge is to raise as much money as possible in just 24 hours. If everyone in the town donated at least a pound, an extra £180,000 could be added to the Ark campaign, imagine what difference that will make. The more people involved the better, which is why we want schools, businesses and community organisations to get stuck in to the full day of fundraising. Find out more about the day and how you can sign up: https://arkday.co.uk/ark/.
In support of Ark Day our team will be taking part in a number of events including a 20km walk along Basingstoke Canal. Similar to our London Bridges trek last year, we have decided to go trekking locally from Fleet back to Basingstoke This event will be taking place before Ark day on Sunday 2nd June. We will also be hosting a number of in house events in the week leading up to Ark Day including a static bike challenge, cake sale and dress down day.
Our Charity Golf Day will be returning on 10th July at Dummer Golf Club. Last year we raised over £4000 on the day, we want to replicate this success by inviting as many people along to take part.
On top of this our bravest member of staff, Marie Pym, strikes again, taking part in a parachute jump in September. After completing her wing walk last year, she decided to take to the skies again with several family members, all in memory of her brother, Adie.
Our team are all taking part in the fundraising, whether its riding the static bike for an hour or two, baking cakes, facing fears and running personal bests. We are looking forward to another great year of fundraising and we hope we get the support of all of our friends and family to help us reach our target.
